LOCATIONS
Etraya is what you make of it.

The city bubble existing on the planet grows and adapts to its inhabitants, taking bits and pieces of the world characters are familiar with and building itself up into something they might find comfortable. The city itself is still rather new, and as such, there aren't too many buildings. Large rivers flow through the land, and bridges were built for easier access across them. Where there is space one day, may be an entirely new facility the next when new arrivals land.

Because of this, discerning just what kind of city Etraya holds is difficult. An area may have futuristic buildings with biometric scanners and underground bunkers, another area may have houses more suitable for the 1800s. Outside of the city bubble, the planet is empty and contains no signs of life.

Nova City
Two islands of skyscrapers connected by the Bludhaven Bridge, with buildings from Marvel’s New York/Central City & DC’s Metropolis/Gotham/Central City. The region of Guardiandocks is Nova City North, and Harborport is Nova City South. In the day, it often looks bright, shining, and full of promise, while at night, the shadows are almost too long, pitch black, and there are a hundred places to hide.

What’s also ~super strange~ about this location is that while they are familiar skyscrapers, the buildings are empty inside. It’s almost the Backrooms empty. No furniture, no dust even. Like somehow, the insides of these buildings aren’t why they suddenly appeared. How weird, right?

Numerous stray cats can be found wandering the city, and courtesy of Gorgug and Superman, limitless milk and water jugs have been set up to keep them well-hydrated.
Trolley
A sleek trolley system now winds through Etraya, following clearly marked pathways through the city bubble to make travel across the city smoother. However, the trolley only moves one way, eternally following the loop Aurora has set it on. And because of this, it takes six hours to complete it's loop all the way around. Don't miss your stop!
Wind Turbines
Three-bladed propeller wind turbines that generate electricity using wind power. Turbines of various heights are scattered around Etraya, and due to being Academy City experimental technology can even function next to other buildings without issue. The blades are made of carbon fiber materials, and the tower is metal. Each blade weighs about 500kg.
Catacombs
Built into vast underground quarries, the ossuaries of Paris contain the remains of over six million people. It's a lot of bones! Occasionally there will be an entire movie theater set up, or a fully stocked bar speakeasy style, or a candlelit dining table with 12 chairs.

A sign at the entrance of a small green shed reads: Arrête! C'est ici l'empire de la Mort ("Stop! This is the empire of Death") and there are 131 steps down into the catacombs that sprawl beneath the city.
Alcyone's Wake
Hospital
The hospital is located towards the center of the developed city. With long corridors full of empty rooms and few companion bots, it may come off a little... eerie. Rooms within the hospital are meant to house individuals of all shapes and sizes, with some wards composed of a couple of massive rooms with cots several times larger than what one would expect a human being to need. The patient monitors, too, come in all shapes and sizes with various languages inscribed on them. With each batch of new arrivals, new rooms seem to appear, built for their specific needs.

While the rooms characters arrive in are not equipped with much, the higher floors have numerous defibrillators, surgical tables, blanket and fluid warmers, sterilizers, stretchers, first aid kits, and miscellaneous other items that would be needed in a well-manned hospital. Further information on the hospital can be found here.
Apartments
The apartment building is several stories tall, and the rooms are as large as people need them to be. Empty rooms will have keys left on the kitchen counter until someone arrives to claim them, and there are name plaques on the outside of the doors that can be filled in however characters choose. While the apartments are very basic, there are enough of them for everyone who arrives on Etraya.

On the bottom floor of the building is a recreation room, which has a bit of everything: old arcade games, a pool table, hockey table, a very small roller skating rink that can maybe fit half a dozen people on it uncomfortably along with a few pairs of skates that may or may not be close to the right size.
The Library
The Library is a five-story neoclassical building of terra cotta, brick, and stone. The inside of the Library is, in fact, a library! All five floors are occupied by books and study rooms. The contents of the library are what you might expect from New York City circa early 2000s. There's a movie viewing room set up with an old school repaired CRT TV and DVD player to make use of the DVD collection. On the first floor off from the circulation desk is an art exhibit room where anyone is welcome to display their art, and a staff room that is constantly stocked with tea and an electric kettle.

On the second and third floors are private areas blocked by solid doors and biometric scanners. Harold Finch ([personal profile] ornithologist), John Reese ([personal profile] aimsforknees), and Sameen Shaw ([personal profile] cactusy) reside there.
8 Grandage Place
A Victorian townhouse much more akin to a grand mansion, located just off from the apartment complex. The front door is made of steel, and hidden on the other side is a sigil that keeps any non-humans from entering the premises without invitation.

There are now a huge assortment of elaborate Halloween decorations crowding the front lawn behind the wrought-iron fence.
Kinglet Academy
A place for learning with a library stocked to cover most common college courses (arts, animal care, a-levels, construction, health, and so on). It also has material for new learners and beginners, and also some sports fields and courts.
Corrine's Café
A quaint little café located close to the apartment building, Corrine's Café offers lattes, mochas, espresso, black coffee, several different kinds of teas, and a few drinks that are a little. . . odd to find in a café. Ale, canned sodas and coffees, numerous bottles of wine, but only pinot noir. Once one has entered, they are greeted by a companion bot behind the counter who offers a wave of their hand and a friendly “Welcome! Let me know when you’re ready to order”.

Soft music plays in the background, impossible to place but it sounds as if it may be based on tracks that were popular in the early 90s.
The Maximum
The MAXIMUM is a dance & music studio with an entertainment lounge that welcomes one and all. Situated close to Corrine's Café and the river, the entrance's exterior is shaped as a large pirate's hull around 2 and a half storeys, while allowing access to the top of this ship-shaped building.

The main entrance is a pair of double doors with the building's name, the MAXIMUM in bold lettering, and the interior is less pirate-y, but spacious. On the first floor is an entertainment lounge with access to a stage and bar, and also a kitchen on one side, while the opposite side has a dance studio, as well as changing rooms and showers.

The top floor leads to multiple music-related rooms, for practise, recording, and also a couple of karaoke rooms. Each room has access to speakers for music. Outside is a courtyard with a stage and an outdoor seating area. More details can be located here.
Grease Lightning Autoshop
A spacious repair shop with the tools and equipment to help in the modding and repairs of motor vehicles. While there are no actual vehicles available inside, some basic replacements of wheels, oils, etc, can be found. The front of the shop says Grease Lightning! next to its cool mascot in black and white. Operated by Jason Todd [personal profile] leastdramatic.
7-11
A large 7-11 convenience store. This one is styled after the konbinis in Japan, and carries many common Asian products one would find there such as make-your-own-smoothies, packaged onigiri, and melon bread. There's are sections for drinks (including alcoholic), prepared meals, hot meals, snacks and desserts, household items, and magazines and manga. There's also a large printer/copy/fax machine for some reason.
Otto-Mart
Part of a near-future Chinese supermarket chain, OTTO-mart is known for a comprehensive grocery section, a deli, a bakery, a butcher, fresh seafood (including live tanks), a pharmacy, a selection of mostly kitchen-based home goods, pet food, a small rotating selection of toys and books and bedding, an alcohol section (specializing in Chinese alcohols, with offerings from Japan and Korea and Thailand as well), and a seasonal sports-and-outdoor gear and clothing section.

It's staffed by OTTO-bots who float around, chat up visitors and companion bots, and make recommendations on sales while telling you they are entirely totally not at all upselling you anything. (For once it's true, as there's no economy.) There are also holographic interfaces labeling everything in store, with larger ones displaying the temperature outside and the day's weather. They'll also offer recipe suggestions which may or may not be worth trying at any point.
Hanging Gardens
Even in a city filled with flowers, the Hanging Gardens of Lumière are something spectacular. In Alcyone's Wake, near the apartments, several consecutive rooftops are now filled with flowering plants of all kinds; some tucked under a glass greenhouse roof, others in open gardens populated with wooden benches to sit on and wrought iron railings to lean against. Ivy and other clinging plants spill over the edges of the roof to clamber along the building walls. A long wooden fence lines the walkway, plastered with newspaper articles and posters. At the furthest end of the gardens, looking out over a wide stretch of river, stands a small windmill. The flowers will grow and bloom year-round as long as the weather is temperate enough, but will need some caretaking to look their best.

Bramble Valley
Chicken Factory
Once frequented by Eddie and Venom in San Francisco as a source of emergency food, it's now arriving in Etraya as a defunct factory filled with confused, bewildered chickens. Once they've all been located somewhere new [or kept as pets], this fixer-upper factory will be remodeled and reworked into Eddie and Venom's home/public petting zoo. It's going to take a while to turn this place into something homey, so expect miscellaneous chicken shenanigans until then.
Cafe Millenia
A café formerly run by Sandalphon ([personal profile] prevail), it features a unique aesthetic and high-quality coffee beverages. The couple companion bots who assist are dressed in aprons that match the facility's color scheme and would love to show you their latte art!
Liquor Store
Your average mid-west american liquor store, brought to Etraya. For when the Kwik Stop's offerings just aren't enough. Stocks beer, wine, and spirits.
Garreg Mach Monastery
Steeped in history and serving as the heart of the Central Church of Seiros, the monastery may look more like a medieval castle to more modern eyes. Yet within its tall stone walls, its grounds encompass various facilities for education, training, and prayer. One can find dormitories, a greenhouse containing diverse flora from Fódlan and beyond, a fishing pond, a dining hall, gardens and more. At its heart lies a cathedral of majestic grandeur with statues depicting its saints and a grand mural of the goddess.

Currently, Clive Rosfield [personal profile] herofhopeless and Joshua Rosfield [personal profile] dangerbird reside there.
Abyss
Accessible from a certain place in Garreg Mach known to a select few, the Abyss once served as housing for those driven underground. Within its large stone tunnels are facilities such as housing, a marketplace, a shrine for worship, and a pub that doubles as an inn. It also contains the Shadow Library, where the undesired and redacted secrets of Fódlan are consigned to obscurity. The tunnels themselves extend much further than the residential area, eventually winding down into a deep and large natural cave system that curiously appears to have a source of light and supports lush green plant life... But people almost never stray so far, it's much too easy to be lost.
Abyss Depths
Venturing deeper into the underground tunnels of the Abyss will eventually lead to an unnaturally vast wilderness populated by building-high trees and mushrooms. There are no rodents or insects here, only gigantic carnivorous creatures mutated to carry traits of a variety of different animals. The larger plants are carnivorous as well, many acting like venus flytraps, and fungi of all shapes and sizes dot the scenery in every direction—all poisonous, of course.
CHARRONWAY
Bishop Publishing (The Clubhouse)
A once abandoned building that has been turned into a hangout for any junior superheroes (or those close enough to count). The building has been furnished with an archery room/armory (contain various martial arts weaponry), a kitchen, recreational areas (including a game room), a training room/Gymnasium, and personal quarters for those who need a place away from everyone else.
The Diner
The unnamed diner is train-car styled, with a vintage looking interior. They're open 24/7 and serve an array of classic diner foods. Including all day breakfast.
Institute for Mutant Education and Outreach
The Institute occupies a rather large, sprawling estate enclosed on one side by walls with creeping ivy and a dense forest at the back. A wrought-iron gate is left open up front, with a broken metal sign proclaiming the Institute's current name.

The buildings themselves are a curious amalgamation of New England architecture and a handful of gleaming chrome structures. The main mansion is comprised of three above-ground floors divided into: dormitories for students and staff, classrooms, faculty offices, a basic infirmary, a recreation room, a communal kitchen and a dining area. A smaller appendix building houses storage space and an empty garage.

A restricted elevator leads down to two sublevels that house: a medical bay, a rudimentary gym with typical workout equipment, and a large, seemingly empty space simply called The Danger Room. Well-lit corridors lead away from the main sub-level space to an empty hangar that doesn't seem to open to anywhere else.

From the above, one can see that aside from the main building, there is also: a basketball court, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, and a large baseball diamond out back. All facilities are completely wheelchair accessible.
Rocky's Bar(cade)
Located somewhere on the main strip, Rocky's Bar(cade) looks like it's been created from the remnants of an abandoned dive. Formerly owned by Dean Winchester ([personal profile] venatoris), Rocky's is a full scale bar where you are able to get standard bar food, along with beer, wine, hard liquor, mixed drinks, as well as soda and water. There are 3 draft beers on tap from the microbrewery out back.

In the basement is where you will find a very retro, very 80s style arcade. There are pinball machines, Pacman, and other various games to be played. Alcohol is permitted in the arcade, but if you get shitfaced and start getting sloppy, a bouncer or Dean himself will throw your ass out. For more information, look here.
Robin Deli
Robin Deli offers everything a New Yorker would be homesick for. There isn't a bodega cat, but there is a friendly bodega rat named Mr. Cheese.
NYX
The NYX building pays homage to the mutant culture in New York City, with graffiti embellishing the surrounding walls in clear Krakoan tribute. The opening to the building is a wooden door with ‘NYX ALL WELCOME’in yellow paint, and it leads to directly to the inner structure. The large hall comes with flags, cushions, an arcade machine, a couch, a TV, and video games— it’s ideal for gatherings and community activities. An armchair sits at the back. Sophie Cuckoo ([personal profile] sophielicious) is often sitting there in the afternoons, organizing activities and addressing issues as the current leader.
Mall of America
It's only the largest mall in America (it's what it claims anyway in one universe). So not only can you expect hundreds of stores and dozens of dining options in its 4-level building that spans over 78 acres, but there's also movie theaters, a mini-golf course, an aquarium, and even an indoor theme park called Camp Snoopy to hang out at.

DEWPOINT
Ebbets Field
Maybe it started as a joke, but the result is real enough: a brand-new reconstruction of Flatbush's Ebbets Field, tucked behind the diner. Although there are no Major League Baseball teams in Etraya — yet — the field is open every day for anyone who'd like to play some ball in the sun or under the lights.

Pick up hotdogs and beer for a picnic on right field, or cheer on a team of bots as they scrimmage. Take advantage of the pitching machines or batting cages to blow off some steam. No equipment? No worries, the dugouts have gloves, balls, and bats for all. And if baseball isn't your thing, you may find Ebbets Field is just the right place to host an outdoor movie night or concert, or for skating when the bots flood it in the winter. Play ball!
The Bunker
An unassuming but rather large building easily mistaken for a rundown warehouse sits far enough from the city center it takes a bit of effort to get to. Its entrance is rather small and nondescript, almost below ground level, only accessible by a special key. The front door opens onto a metal catwalk with a staircase down to the main level.

The main level itself is decorated in Art Deco style with wall sconces and metalwork decorations. The frieze around the walls contains hidden symbols, sigils, and Devil's traps. At every doorway, there is a symbol which would be the next line of defense if a demon breaks in. A war room one greets guests at the bottom of the stairs, and deeper inside is a library. Further in there are several rooms meant as sleeping quarters. The complex also houses a shooting range, complete with three targets and a dungeon for holding demons hidden in one of its archive rooms. More information can be found here.
Flying Casino
The Flying Casino is located upon a floating island between Dewpoint and Uketon, accessible by riding one of the neon whales circling the perimeter. Upon the archipelago is a grand building with a boarded door, guarded by a companion bot wearing the tip of a paintbrush upon its head. Inside, more constructs staff numerous games of chance, from blackjack to roulette, to games from other worlds people might be familiar with. These staff wear similar headwear and some have taken to wearing masks with crude drawings. Players are provided with tokens and offered a chance of winning strange and useless prizes that provide no advantage in missions. One player might win a stuffed toy resembling a companion while another wins a swimsuit. Though most will likely lose their winnings -- because the house always wins.

ETRAZIM
Snake Island
This island was formed by Superman and the Phoenix when snakes had overtaken Nova City, to give them a safe place to live that isn't somewhere people roam. There are no bridges, nor pieces of land connecting this island to the others so the snakes cannot venture off of it unless assisted by player characters.
WcDonald's
At the trolley stop on snake island is an utterly normal WcDonald’s with burgers, fries, shakes, and Glad Meal Toys.
FARWAY
The Junkyard
To the very far west of Etraya, out of the way of other buildings, a tipping site can be found with miscellaneous pieces from the companion bot's projects. Car parts, computer parts, an old broken bicycle--anything that you can imagine being found at a dumping site is here, from pieces of carpeting, cardboard, rubble, and even waste chemicals.
Bounce Castle
It's big, it's colorful, it's... unpoppable? What is that doing here?

Don't worry about it. At least it's fun to jump in!
GUARDIANDOCKS
Wayne Manor
Located a significant distance away from the apartment complex, Wayne Manor is a massive, gothic-inspired home hidden behind a gate with a large W in the center. Under the manor is the Batcave, which is accessible through a few hidden entrances throughout the Manor, and the grounds around it. The grounds around the manor are filled with booby-traps courtesy of a few Robins, and the Cave is guarded by a dragon bat named Goliath.
Sector 5 Church
A deserted church structure that has largely fallen into disrepair: nonetheless, its beauty is undeniable. Light streams through the colorful stained glass, and though very little of its furnishings are in one piece, you may find the odd wooden pew to take a seat. Though there are accessible back rooms and rafters, they are in similar states, if not worse, as the rest of the building. The main event is a hole in the floor near the in-tact altar - directly beneath a hole in the ceiling, through which sunlight streams - where a series of white and yellow lilies are flourishing.
The Subway
The storage area is accessible first via a set of steps that are open to the street (the sign proclaims in both English and Chinese that it's the entrance to a barbershop), and then several more flights downwards. Unless someone chooses to repurpose it in some way, it's an empty, forgotten space, containing very little beyond a few empty crates and a single vending machine that's welded to the wall. For the vast majority of people, that's all there is to the space. However, those who are in the know have the ability to punch the right code into the vending machine, which sends it swinging open to reveal one final staircase leading downwards. This is the location of an old subway station, complete with a defunct subway car that's been turned into an office (there's a desk with a computer terminal, a whole mess of empty computer servers, and a transparent whiteboard just outside). Other amenities include lockers, cots, rudimentary bathroom facilities, and even a seating area that's been converted into a makeshift bedroom.

The storage area is open and accessible to all. The subway is the hideout of Brandon Carver ([personal profile] fortitudosalutis), and is not publicly accessible/discoverable.
Big Belly Burger
Big Belly Burger is your standard megachain fast food restaurant with red and yellow logo, serving up the quintessential 50s American meal of a burger, fries, and a shake.

The menu includes the Belly Buster, the Belly Flop, Cheesemeister Deluxe, and the Big Beefer. Desserts include an apple pie that is only goo inside, no apple, and the Chocorrific shake, which may or may not be real chocolate. Don't ask what a Drizzle Doodle is, no one knows. You can also get hot dogs, egg salad sandwiches (why??), chicken sliders, fish sandwiches, and breakfast. The kids' meals are Jolly meals and come with a toy. As for soda? Well, you've got Zesti, Diet Zesti, Soder-Cola, Diet Soder...

Since the restaurant is permanently decked out for Christmas, the drive-thru menu also features an ad for eggnog shakes. The speaker is inside the mouth of a giant resin clown head and crackles badly.
Dessendre Manor
This palatial manor is bordered by limestone walls and electric candelabra: the polished exterior a blend of baroque extravagance and imperial grandeur. Pristine hedges and trees frame the entrance. They form a confusing maze that obscures the base of a bronze lion statue. The stained glass door is unyielding, an unseen force preventing trespassers from entering, while a glass pyramid catches the sunlight, drawing attention to the entrance. Behind the manor is a landscaped garden with a fountain as the centrepiece.

The foyer is dominated by a double staircase, blanketed by a crimson runner that flows downstairs like a river, urging guests to ascend to the second floor. Black walls are adorned with intricate geometric patterns, illuminated by elegant sconces casting warm light. Hanging from the coffered ceiling, a majestic chandelier brightens the hall, cascading through sparkling crystals. Gilded portraits and marble sculptures lend an air of refinement. Observing visitors from the landing is an oil painting of a family: their piercing eyes seem to follow every movement.

Most rooms are decorated with a palette of obsidian black and antique gold. Each piece of furniture, upholstered in black brocade and gold embroidery, evokes extravagance and refinement. Upon the roof is a glasshouse of foliage and blackened steel. Trees stand in all four corners, their branches spreading through space. Ivy creeps up and across the structure. The air is laden with the fragrance of flora. The château exudes affluence and prestige, serving as the home of Renoir Dessendre ([personal profile] betenoir).
Apollo Theater
The Apollo Theater isn’t a particularly big theater, but rather a cozy and retro style one. The bright neon lights that illuminate the word APOLLO turn on at exactly 7PM no matter the season. Every month, there will be four movies playing on rotation. It is open all hours, and there’s no ticket counter, but there is a serve-yourself popcorn and a few drink dispensers that the companion bots will restock. For a list of movies, here are some suggestions, but you’re free to make up whatever movie you want there!
Daily Planet
The Daily Planet office building is a massive skyscraper featuring a large globe on its roof. Once inside, it becomes clear what the building was meant for: the lower floor features a reception area, and the upper floors are dedicated to office spaces and wide open areas where reporters draft their articles.
Contingency Plan
Contingency Plan is a two-level facility that functions as Percival de Rolo's ([personal profile] badnewsandshitlist) private, tinkering escape disguised as a commissioned business. The structure is built from rough-cut limestone in a rustic industrial style, with functional accents of brass and copper.

The ground floor is the main consultation space and personal study. This level is structurally soundproofed to ensure silence from below, featuring walls in stately light blue, white, and dark purple colors. A central chandelier illuminates the round table for commissions, while a substantial limestone hearth and a Sun Tree mural anchor the room's strategic elegance.

Directly below, the basement workshop is his secure, windowless refuge. This level is fully ventilated and safe for all industrial work. It contains the forge and all fabrication stations, illuminated by star-shaped glowing fixtures (referencing the six stars of the de Rolo crest), providing a private, focused light for his work and catharsis.
HARBORPORT
Tower of Justice
The Tower of Justice cuts an imposing figure on Etraya's skyline. Once inside, visitors are greeted by cameras and a giant Lady Justice statue in the foyer. The Tower is just as cold and imposing on the inside as it is outside. The main living space is sparsely decorated, save for a console providing low resolution video feeds for the security cameras, a large sofa, a liquor cabinet, and a display that doubles as a means of communication and TV.

At the Tower's center, is the ship that brought Hernan to earth, returned to him by the US government and can be accessed either from the living room or through Kirk's lab. It is damaged thanks to William Magnus and seems to be unstable. It is currently kept dormant to keep the ship's core from melting down and causing a catastrophe.

Several floors down is its power source, a Kryptonian designed generator, though it seems to mostly be drained of power. Most of the consoles around it are dormant, except one that can play back Hernan's footage of the last moments of Krypton. It can provide just enough power to keep the lights on, power the doors, and run some of the security measures but not all them. The elevators (which are ordinarily just beams of light) do not work. Visitors will have to take the stairs.

Please note: the Tower of Justice does not accept visitors, especially uninvited ones. But without its full range of security, literally anyone can come in. Hernan Guerra ([personal profile] sonofzod) makes his home here.
Wayne Tower
In the Northern section of Nova City, Wayne Tower stands tall above the multiple empty buildings that make up the cityscape. The top two floors consist of the Wayne Penthouse in gothic architecture while the lower floor and main entrance are largely abandoned and home to a number of bats. A basement serves as a work in progress Batcave, complete with hidden elevator to the penthouse.
Bad Kids Compound
'A fenced off area containing two structures. The most accessible building is right near the front gate, making the detective agency inside the simple two-story building convenient for anyone to visit. The next is the strangest structure, a large manor shaped like a ship. In fact, it looks like it really is just a real ship, though on the inside it's a regular big fancy manor.

The area is owned by Fabian Seacaster [personal profile] maximumlegend, and Riz Gukgak [personal profile] stresstokens. More details located here.
Ice Cream Parlor
A retro-designed ice cream parlour that serves its ice cream and milkshakes cold cold cold, but its hot cocoas hot! The marshmallows are plentiful, and you can choose your own music from the jukebox!
Kwik Trip
The Kwik Trip convenience store features a range of typical convenience store stock, a small grocery section, and facilities for preparing a limited menu. Bagged milk is available.
Shinra HQ
The as-yet-unfinished monstrosity that is the Shinra Building serves as headquarters to the Shinra Electric Power Company. Though it's certainly not winning any awards for elegance of architecture, it looms against the skyline like the monument to industrialized capitalism that it is.

Some floors are generally accessible to anyone who might wander in; access to the higher floors, however, is security-restricted to high-ranking Shinra employees only.
Nova City Central Station
The so-called "Central Station" of the Nova City Underground — if that even truly exists apart from a few collapsed tunnels connecting to the station — is the result of someone wishing for a bit of home with a new twist. It is circular in design and leans towards being very art deco, albeit in a somewhat industrial-steampunk fashion. It's all greens, brasses, gold gilding, and neon windows, although that gold does look to be flaking off somewhat in places, and the glass has begun to crack. Thankfully, what hasn't begun to crack is the giant pillar of an aquarium that looms over the ticket booth, although the waters have been better days, and the shapes within are only shadows flitting about in the murk.

Several of the train cars have been converted into living spaces, and there may be a collection of empty bottles up on the balcony tables or a heap of mechanical parts and tools scattered around occasionally.

The two grand staircases leading up and down from Nova City proper often have the gates drawn shut, locked to those without an express invitation to visit.

For more information, head on over here.
Jinx's Lair
Walking through the Nova City Abandoned Train Station, one might find a hole in the ground behind the tilted cart and a small ladder that feels eternal to go up or down in — but there's light at the very end of it, faint and colorful, and more often than not, blasting music echoes through the hole so if you're curious, might as well go check it out. Suppose you're not particularly fond of stairs or throwing yourself in the deep end. In that case, the elevators also take you there when you press the lowest floor available - just remember, they tend to malfunction, so you might get stuck at times. Using the elevator brings one to one of the blade ledges of Jinx's lair, although mind the gap. For those who use the staircase, enjoy the parkour down, which leads to one of the upper structures of the repurposed fan/turbine she once lived in.
Arkham Asylum
Hidden amongst the urban sprawl covering the city from one end to the other, visible only from the correct vantage point, stands the utilitarian and unadorned psychiatric hospital that is Arkham Asylum. The interior is cold in climate and appearance, with dim corridors and exposed bricks and stones, reflecting its stark and monolithic design.

Public access is restricted to designated administrative and visitation areas. Outpatient wards are accessible to anyone willing to take the keys from reception. Access to patient rooms, staff offices and laboratories is restricted to those with proper clearance - or the equipment and skills to break inside. But they will discover any evidence of illegal dealings has been cleared from the site

The old hydrotherapy room beneath the asylum has been repurposed by Jonathan Crane [personal profile] restingstitchface into a research laboratory. This restricted area is part of a labyrinthine basement that is extremely tough to navigate. The basement runs beneath the asylum and is connected to the water mains that run throughout Nova City.
Fortress of Attitude
The Secret Headquarters of Superboy ([personal profile] solarson) and Robin ([personal profile] brat). Located underwater, it's accessible by submarine-type vehicles or Supers who can swim-fly through the water. It has everything two Super Sons would need including training facilities, debriefing room, submarine docks, living areas, and yes, even a mini-fridge. Visitors welcome with permission from either Super Son, trespassers will be dealt with. Probably by Robin first.
INDIGO VALLEY
Gotham Clock Tower
Exactly what it sounds like on the tin—a large clock tower from Gotham City, now prominently bringing you the time, good citizens. It's a fully functioning clock tower, with precisely set hands (set to the current time in Etraya), that reports itself as belonging to Wayne Enterprises. For those with the discerning eye, all entrances to the Gotham Clock Tower are blocked by solid or metal doors, with keypads that open hidden biometric scanners. The security system extends beyond that, featuring triggers such as lasers, an electrified fence, trap doors, sliding staircases, and more, both inside & out. It also looks to have been built for fortification against earthquakes and appears to have an emergency generator.

JINGLEWALK
Heaven's Night
Heaven's Night is a strip club owned by Maria ([personal profile] heavensnight) with two poles for shows. It is decorated all in flashy wallpaper and neon signs that advertise the sleazy entertainment it promises. Tables are scattered to watch the show and there is a fully stocked bar to drink and wash your troubles away if the dancers aren't cutting it.

It is locked and there seems to be no hours listed. Just a sign on the front door that reads 'Want a show? Ask Maria ♡'
Dawn Winery
The Dawn Winery is an estate and winery with lush vineyards, and a thriving orchard. What was once staff housing is built into the edges of the valley. The central estate is at the center of the grounds. Within the estate itself is an elegant foyer with a side office and a dining area. There is a locked wine cellar at the back of the estate. Many rooms on the bottom floor look to have been used for a specific purpose but are all closed off right now.

Upstairs are bedrooms, the library, and a main office. The estate itself once served as a home for Kaeya ([personal profile] shadowsincryo) but is now vacant. A sign at the edge of the valley pathway leading into the grounds reads: Welcome, Dawn Winery. Whence the flow of daylight comes, Forget not whence thou came.
KNOLLVILLE
Hall of Apeiron
Before entering the great hall, there is a stone outside with curious markings. If someone attempts to read the Greek underneath the paint, it reads: "Those who are ignorant of geometry and irregular numbers are forbidden entry." However, there is nothing actually stopping anyone from entering.

The inside is lined with seats that surround a singular podium in the centre of the room. It has an altar and also curious red markings that can be seen if someone goes to higher rows. Candles do what they can to brighten the dark space, but only a little at night.
MONOLITH
A huge mysterious black monolith that appeared in Mission 11.

The monolith is inscribed with strange symbols carved deep into its sheer gleaming stone. It stands huge and imposing, isolated against the empty landscape.
LAKEWELL
Shooting Range
An indoor shooting range for Etrayans to safely practice with firearms or other ranged weaponry. The exterior looks like a high-tech bunker, and the interior contains a dozen or so individual booths along with an area off to the side for tinkering and cleaning weapons. Each booth comes with basic sensors that measure one's accuracy, rate of fire and reload speed that can be read off an attached computer screen. There are options for standard paper targets, as well as tougher ones that can move in different patterns along the floor like a carnival game.
海与霜 (Hai Yu Shuang)
A nice house on a street that features a tavern, a candy shop and a bakery. There are plenty of trees surrounding said home, a pond of koi fish and a place in the inner courtyard to practice martial arts/cultivation.
MOLLYMARLIN
Dhaliwal-to-Wall Books
Dhaliwal-to-wall Books is a cozy neighborhood bookstore with a big window tucked into a brick building. Though small it is overflowing with both new and used books from floor to ceiling. A small nook by an unused register contains large old overstuffed reading chairs.
Kiramman Mansion
This large mansion is enclosed by an intricate wrought iron fence and surrounded by stone fountains and perfectly landscaped greenery. The massive front doors open into a brightly-lit room in which a double staircase sweeps up to the second floor, hanging over which is an oil painting of the Kiramman family: the matriarch standing behind her seated husband and young daughter.

One won't have to look too far to find something – walls, furniture, or otherwise – emblazoned with the Kiramman crest. Room after room is elegantly appointed with finely crafted furniture and tasteful art, mostly in a green and gold colour palette. The whole place feels luxurious and aristocratic. It is home to Caitlyn Kiramman ([personal profile] clavesregni).
Hot Springs Cave
Originally located in a snowy forest, shifting rocks reveal an entrance down into a dark cave with steam seeping from the entrance. Those brave enough to explore will find themselves in a pleasingly warm cavern. There are multiple connected pools of varying depths and temperatures. Each spring has (as a baseline) clear and fresh-smelling water. Some pools are fragrant (with lavender or other pleasant/calming scents), while others contain bubble bath or rose petals. For the modest, there are simple changing booths with cloth curtains--these are also used as body-rinsing stations to cleanse one's person before entering a spring.

OCHREWARD
Bangsan Market
Found directly across the river from the apartments is the Bangsan Market. Going through the main market entrance brings you into a long covered traditional Korean market.

There are banners advertising the market and it's discounted sales hanging from the rafters and many of the shops do have signs indication what they are already, including a restaurant called Rabbit Hole Street Food.
Hannibal Lecter's House
There used to be a lavish house here, but as of Mission 11, it is now a pile of rubble.

Actually -- the rubble that used to be Hannibal's house is now an enormous crater in the ground. Several other craters are scattered around, and along with large fissures that have appeared it looks as if something completely pulverized the earth. Any trees in the area have been uprooted and smashed into smithereens. It's almost like an earthquake and a tornado duked it out and didn't bother to clean up afterwards.
House Talis Forge
The forge is an industrial-sized building, with no door— just a big gate that remains open at all times. With large skylights to let light in, and huge gears from floor to ceiling, there is also other equipment around that one would expect in a forge this size, like huge bellows. There are multiple hearths, anvils, and tool stands for the specific crafting of unique items. There’s barely any internal light sources though, outside of the fires in the hearths, and those do need to be lit and maintained manually. Nearly every part of the forge, if there’s a spot for decor, bears the Talis Hammer imagery. Once the forge is roaring, the large pillar that helps stoke the flames hotter redirects the energy toward the steam-powered machinery. There is everything one would need to forge all sorts of materials, if there is enough fuel and materials to work with. It is run by Jayce Talis ([personal profile] hexcope). More information here.
Chocobo Ranch
A simple wooden fence encircles a small ranch for raising, keeping, riding, training, and renting out chocobos. Much of the land is taken up by the large, grassy corral in the center, where the chocobos can run around, dance, and entertain themselves during the day. Just inside the fence to the left, there's a rest stop that includes a comfy bench, restrooms, and a vending machine containing snacks, drinks, various types of potions, basic materia with a few accessories designed for mounting those materia in, and booster packs of Queen's Blood cards.

Further from the entrance is a large barn beside a tall grain silo. Inside the barn there are stalls where the chocobos eat, sleep, and get groomed. There's also a shop that sells various kinds of bird feed, greens and other treats, tack, accessories, and supplies, as well as a Chocoboutique where visitors can dress their chocobos up in those fancy new duds they just bought.

The rest of the grounds are dotted with sheds of varying sizes, and there's a farmhouse with enough space for a large family to live in opposite the rest stop on the other side of the ranch. The ranch is maintained by Cloud Strife ([personal profile] nimbuster).
PURPLE WINDY
Stonhyrr
Standing defiantly above treacherous waters rests an imposing fortress made of that which it derives its namesake. The brutal architecture does little to welcome visitors, as does the single bridge which connects it to the mainland.

Perched upon jagged rocks which look just as threatening as the crashing waters which yearn to ravage aught that might dare to enter it, there is no doubt this structure was made with repelling invasion in mind. There also seems to be a perpetuate thunderstorm above, though no rain falls despite the dance of lightning and clap of thunder overhead. Everything about this place seems utterly oppressive and violent, and for good reason.

For more information please look here!
Drake's Spine
Behind Stonhyrr and nestled within the ceaselessly crashing waves off the coast of the Purple Windy towers an intimidatingly giant pillar of illuminated crystal. Its height is on par with that of mountains, though it sports no incline for those who might entertain the notion of scaling it. From all around it lightning flashes and dances between this crystal obelisk and the clouds above, further locking the area into an otherwise rainless thunderstorm.

From Stonhyrr itself there is a bridge that connects to the mothercrystal, an opening long since carved out of it by ancient people long since dead. Within there is a beautiful inner sanctum of impressive architecture, where the heart of the crystal is housed, though there are other pathways that lead into the bowels of this ancient magical structure, where shards of crystal can be procured, should its guardian allow.
QUIVERFIELDS
Harry's Hideaway Pub
A small, non-descript bar and restaurant where the wood creaks with age, and everything seems to smell of cedar and cider. There's a working jukebox in the corner, a tiny dancefloor nestled between cozy booths, and a pool table towards the back. The main draw is the diverse selection of wine and spirits behind the bar, as it has a seemingly perpetual stock of Canadian and German beer. An old sign at the door proclaims the pub to be proudly mutant-friendly.
Roxx
A large clothing store, Roxx is one bridge away from the apartment complex and includes clothing from all over. Looking for a nice dark cloak to hide yourself away from everyone? Roxx has it. Want a formal dress to wear to prom? Take a look at the racks! Whatever sizes a character may need, whatever clothing they may be after, they're likely to find here.
RICHLAND
Ramsey Farm
An idyllic, well loved little farm house that looks like it has been transported right from the fields of Kansas. The garden in the front has flowers and the back garden is chock full of vegetables. There is a chicken coop and a bale of hay is strung up from a tree like a tire swing for a little goat's enrichment. There is also a shed in the back, designed to look like a small version of the farm house, with a summer outdoor couch set up shoved against the back wall, piled with all weather cushions, and various lawn and small gardening equipment hung on the front wall. Towards the edge of the grounds, in a patch of large wildflowers, sits a large stone acting as a grave marker. Instead of names, it has been engraved with "#1 - #10 031."

The farm is being used as a safe space for children by Accelerator. Kids under 15 are allowed to use it as they wish. Kids over 15 are allowed to use the space if they help with upkeep. Adults who have been vetted by a kid are allowed on the ground to do work. A security system has been added to the farm house that sends messages to Accelerator's ear piece depending on the threat level. Thanks to Toph, there is an extensive unlit tunnel network underneath the farm grounds.

The goat's name is Mena.
S.T.A.R. Labs
A large sprawling rather obnoxious circular building with a ridiculous number of rooms (both accessible and inaccessible), S.T.A.R. Labs is a research and development company located across the water to the east that… has a lot of cosplay items that seem to belong to The Flash. Hm.

The building consists of the Cortex, which is a central room equipped with several monitors and computers from 2016 with broken pencils and pens that are running out of ink, a very creepy pipeline consisting of cells leading into a circular dome of nothing, a room with a dusty imprint that one could discern belonged to a very large treadmill.

There is a medical lab with a few pieces of odd medical equipment, an inventor's workshop that's messy as hell with various knickknacks that may not work anymore, a morgue (thankfully empty), and, well… there are other rooms that have yet to be found. (One room remains inaccessible to anyone who isn't a speedster: The Time Vault.)

Yes, it has poor security. Anyone can enter the building. Anyone.
Leafless Valley
Despite the name at the gate, Leafless Valley is lush and full of plant life. There's a small forest and small sections of curated medicinal gardens. A couple of buildings, none of them particularly large but all well kept are placed close together. One of them has various dried medicines, all meticulously labelled as well as tools for grinding, measuring and experimenting with them. There's also a small pavilion full of mahjobg tables, the sign implicates that the purpose is similar to a retirement home. There's also a building with rooms and places to live.

SEASANDS
Oikos Anyder
Just beyond the shores of the river which divides Seasands from Alexandrea's Wake stands a relatively tall building made from sturdy white stone, of which serves as the residence for Emet-Selch ([personal profile] untsundered). The style is an odd mix of Grecian and Art Deco with the marble-like structure adorned with the bronze and gold. There is a curious spire which twists from its side, curling around its frame and hang over its roof serving little purpose beyond artful distinction.

The doors to its entrance stand perilously high—nearly 20 feet—and they in particular don that striking styling that Art Deco is known for. The foundation of the building is upon similar stonework, serving as a path to the abode, with magically powered street lamps that seem to automatically turn on once night descends upon the bubble. One might find it almost impossible to get inside this building, the structure itself is nearly impossible to break for even some of the more powerful folks, and the door will not budge unless the owner of the home opens it. One could attempt to teleport inside, however...

Upon the same property, there is another structure of a similar make behind it, giving the impression of a shed, or its equivalent, though styled far more elegantly than that. This building, still tall enough to fit the man who lives there, is more accessible than the main house, with a smaller door built within the door for those lacking in giant-like stature. Once inside, they will find themselves in what looks to be somewhere else entirely, though in truth it is merely the work of magicks exaggerating the space to an incredible degree and cloaking the walls that would otherwise be visible, even if they would seem impossibly far away. To those who cannot see past the illusory magics, it looks like a field that goes on forever, the sky as cloudless as it seems endless. This is a magically fortified area that should allow some of the more powerful and larger inhabitants of Etraya to spar without worry... for the most part.

THRIMBLE
Muten-Ichi-Ryuu Dojo
In the outskirts of Etraya, there is a traditional Japanese house with a dojo attached. It is fairly large and surrounded by a walled-in garden. As it comes fresh from the 18th century, there will be no modern amenities like electricity or indoor plumbing.

Despite its initial sorry state, the building has since been repaired and is now much more hospitable. It has also been opened to the public for use as a dojo proper should anyone want for somewhere a little quieter or out of the way to do their training regimen. There will still be training equipment like padded suits and swords made of bamboo or wood in the dojo, but real weapons of value have been stolen.

Objects of everyday life one would expect in a house, such as clothing, bedding, lamps, cooking utensils and such, remain. The Dojo is currently uninhabited.

Uketon
Temple of Selûne
This small, nondescript temple has been unattended for some time. The walls are overgrown with ivy and the stones on the ground are cracked where weeds and grass are growing through them. There is no ceiling, allowing worshipers a clear view of the sky. The only thing of note is a statute of the moon goddess, surrounded by burned-out candles, standing on a plinth.
The Louvre
The largest museum in the world, the Louvre and its grounds are a sprawling complex of over 700,000 square feet containing over half a million pieces of art including well-known classical works, archeological pieces from across Earth, and collections of antiquities in almost every medium. The museum's public areas are open to Etrayans who want to see the pieces currently on exhibit, but any attempt to touch the artwork will result in a scolding (and eventual ejection) by a companion bot. The museum's many cafes and food options are likewise staffed by bots, though which ones are open seems to be completely random and the menus don't always match up with what you'd expect. The staff and workshop areas of the Louvre are off limits except to those with keys, which are guarded closely by Clea Dessendre lest anyone destroy any artwork.

Located in the museum is also a Canvas created by Clea Dessendre - a pocket world created for the people of Etraya to experience.

In addition to the museum, there are also the The Tuileries Gardens, a large natural area including sculpted gardens and several tree groves, decorated by famous classical and modern sculptures.

The museum also may be entered via the Catacombs, but doing so requires knowing the way and a key to the door, which remains locked. Near the Catacomb entrance is another Canvas, which, upon entering, proves to house a pitch-black Catacomb themed labyrinth. Persisting into the labyrinth will cause one to encounter both traps and hostile entities, intended to eject visitors.

Although the building is not intended to be a domicile, it is where Clea Dessendre ([personal profile] repaintress) has opted to live.
Adding New Locations
Once accepted, please feel free to use the following form to add new locations to the game! Etraya is built to suit in-game characters, so any place they may be familiar with may find itself popping up after they do.

New location requests are available for players who have been in the game for over 6 months. However, new locations purchased with points are always open. Additionally, you might consider using the DW image hosting service for any images to ensure longevity and load times.

Updating Locations
Has your character claimed dibs on a facility? Did someone explode a good portion of it for fun? Please feel free to use the above form for any updates to locations, or your character has taken over an existing location, please comment here noting the claim. Claims are less meant to allow characters to establish formal ownership and more to note who others may anticipate running into if they decide to try and move in, too.

World-Building
Players are welcome and encouraged to build out the specific regions and settings without prior permission. Do you think there's a loch ness monster off the coast of Etrazim that shows up occasionally? Maybe there is!

Comment on the world building threads for each region to contribute to the communual description. Anything that doesn't rise to the level of needing a dedicated location request is welcome here.

Location Title: The Hanging Gardens
Image Link: here
Text Description: Even in a city filled with flowers, the Hanging Gardens of Lumière are something spectacular.

Text Description: The Flying Casino is located upon a floating island, accessible by riding one of the neon whales circling the perimeter. Though most will likely lose their winnings. Because the house always wins.

Joshua would like to put a trolley stop where the evil Monolith is on Knollville because he may or may not be saving up points to summon some ancient ruins from home to put there.

He'll name the spot: The Fallen

In dedication to the future ruin he plans to put there.✨

Location Title: Contengency Plan
Region: GUARDIANDOCKS
Image Link: Contengency Plan Facility Design Inspiration

Text Description:
Contengency Plan is a two-level facility that functions as Percival de Rolo's private, tinkering escape disguised as a commissioned business.

I have likewise moved the manor image to his journal so it should display for UK people like myself. Many thanks!

There is a small tent encampment on the north side of Ebbets Field - about four or five assorted setups in the landscaping. The area around the tents are rigged with assorted tripwires and walking hazards that will cause bottlecaps or broken glass to chime/jingle aloud as an alarm.

Bypassing that, there's just...a huge horde of junk. Spare parts, a helper bot shell, various equipment from the hospital, piles of clothes, etc.

There is a pink freshwater dolphin roaming the waters of Etraya, but mostly sticking around Farway, given that's where it arrived in Mission 11 as one of the few creatures that didn't fuse with others via arrival mechanics.

There's also a black kelpie roaming around that upon close inspection possesses shark-gills along its neck. Its teeth also grow back shark-like. Enjoy.
