Mission Objectives
Do the Etrayans know who they're looking for by name?
Can Vestiges somehow sense or recognize each other through the glamours?
Do Etrayans know in advance what court they'll be placed in?
Characters will be told with the dossier what their placement is, and the information in this post about their court, yes! (LINK)
Is the network usable while in Auriel?
They will have their ear pieces and it will be usable, just also glamoured to look like something Fae appropriate. (LINK)
When a lost Vestige receives a token, will they get access to the Etraya network?
Nope, they will not receive earpieces until they get back to Etraya. But they could make an alternative device or magical item that taps into the network, or a kind Etrayan could give them one of their own. (Some of them have extra.) (LINK)
Do the Polluxians have their own communications network?
Their normal network communications via earpiece will not work any longer with Castor having broken the connection, but there are two possible alternatives. If they put something together beforehand in Pollux and brought it with them that was separate from Castor's network, that would still work; or they could find something magic-based available from the Fae to keep in contact. Enchanted seashells as phones, for example. (LINK)
Will the Polluxians recognize the influx of Etrayans as related to a mission?
This is timed to coincide with the party so that it isn't obvious that all of the Etrayans are new to Auriel. For each quarterly festival, Fae come out of the woodwork to attend, and the overall population is large and extensive. But they may certainly have suspicions. (LINK)
Courts
How does the game Oathbreaker relate to the Fifth Court (Corvinae)?
It doesn't, really! There's not actually an association between the game Oathbreaker and the Fifth Court, apart from being a snide insult on the part of the Winter Court. (LINK)
Does making an incorrect accusation in Oathbreaker take the character out of the game?
Nope, the only consequence is the character uses up one of their three allowable accusations. (LINK)
Are characters provided clothes that match their court's aesthetic?
They will be given clothes that match their court's aesthetic as a default before they leave but will be able to obtain whatever they wish shortly after arriving in Auriel, provided they have something decent to barter with.
Fitting in with the expected beauty ideals will draw less attention, but it won't necessarily out anyone to go against the grain. They just might find the rest of their court somewhat standoffish to them. (LINK)

What are the Fae's standards of nudity?
The Fae aren't exactly burdened by the shame of their nude forms like humans tend to be! They are one with nature, after all! There is not really a concept of bathing suits, for example. That being said, no one would try to enforce such a thing -- characters can cover up to the extent they deem appropriate (or not). (FROM DISCORD)
Is fraternizing between different courts socially acceptable?
It's not frowned upon, and they do regularly visit one another and occasionally inter-marry. Fae don't ever break their court affiliation, however, and still owe allegiance to that court's king and queen regardless of where they live. The only exception is if they abandon standard Fae society entirely to join Corvinae. (LINK)
What about fighting between members of different courts?
There's no such thing as Fae police, but it is generally frowned upon to have serious violence at one of the festivals. The Umbraean King might feel compelled to deal with it personally to enforce the peace at his court's festival. So while Fae would be disinclined to let violence go unanswered, for this setting they will limit their responses to challenges to games such as flyting or croquet, or they might curse one another with trivial temporary annoyances like being only able to speak in compliments for a day. (LINK)
What happens if someone succeeds in killing or trapping the Rabbit of Caerbannog?
If the rabbit is successfully killed, regardless of who killed it they will find that the moment they are not looking at its body, its remains will have disappeared. It can then be found again, alive and well and just as deadly. It is a legendary creature for a reason (it's immortal).
Should one succeed in trapping it and bringing it to the Queen of Florere, they will learn that it is her pet, and this is for its enrichment. She will happily release it again for more lethal fun and perhaps give you a kiss on the cheek.
So multiple people can hunt it and defeat it, whether by killing it or capturing it. (FROM DISCORD)

Glamours
Can glamours be sensed by magical powers and tools?
You can have fun with this one and have it work however you'd like with your character's power set. (LINK)
Are the fairies strictly insect-based or elf-themed, or can they have extra body parts?
Our intention is to allow cultural influences from a broad array of sources, so the sky's the limit on what Fae might look like. They are incredibly diverse and varied, especially due to a long history of isolated evolution. (LINK)
Can the glamours be removed, reapplied or altered?
They are on for the entire mission and cannot be altered. (LINK)
Do glamours mask character scents? What about voices?
How does it handle prosthetic limbs?
You're welcome to handle this however you prefer. The glamour will cover anything on their physical body. (LINK)
If pets come along with them, are the pets glamoured, too?
You're welcome to handle this however you prefer. (LINK)
Can the glamour make them larger or smaller, and do they have to be humanoid?
That is up to player discretion! The glamours can act differently for each character. If you'd like an excuse to make a non-human character into a humanoid, feel free. Fae tend to prefer human forms but undoubtedly some of them have glamours on themselves to attend the party, too. (LINK)
Do the wings work for real flight or are they just decorative?
Up to you! There's many different mythological representations of Fae; all of them are acceptable here. (LINK)
Setting
What level of technology does Auriel have?
The Fae aren't unfamiliar with technology, they just don't see the point in it when they can do everything better by magic. There's equivalent modern luxuries but none of them operate based off of tech -- and, of course, they have an aversion to iron.
(LINK)
Is steel considered a safe enough material for Fae to handle? What about canon-specific metals?
These Fae are more evolved and well-adapted, so they are able to safely handle iron alloys, just not iron itself. However, they still have a natural distaste and it may out someone to be seen working directly with iron alloys. Or at best they might think he's gearing up for some kind of murder or war.
They may or may not recognize canon-specific metals as iron, but they will probably severely dislike them. (LINK & LINK)

What can characters bring back with them from this mission?
Anything small enough to carry through the return portal, including pets and shopping. (LINK)
Is there a yellow sun in Auriel?
Yes, there is a yellow sun! (LINK)
What is the food situation for vampires?
Aurora would give him a small supply to take with him and help him get situated, but it will likely run out within a week. He'll need to find his own while in Auriel. Fortunately, some varieties of Fae are blood-drinkers, so it won't cast any suspicion on him. He may, however, wish to be careful of the debt law. (LINK)
Will characters be able to take their weapons with them?
Since characters aren't real Fae, will using their true names still have consequences?
Unless a character has a special intrinsic defense against this from canon, yes, their true names carry weight. Their true name does not have to be their canon-assigned "real" name, however. It could be something else. (LINK)
What are the consequences if a Fae learns a character's true name?
It would depend on who overheard them. If they were someone unscrupulous, they would land themselves in indentured servitude to the Fae who heard it. Ultimately they will still be returned as usual at the end of the mission no matter their status.
So if you'd like to play with that, feel free, or if not you can say they got lucky and whoever overheard was nice to them! Or made them pay up to keep quiet in some other way... (LINK)

What is the food and housing situation like?
As the winter court is the host for this festival, it's all Unseelie / winter shaded for standard accommodations, but there is a standard provided and it is excellent. Anything special or unique has to be bartered for. (LINK)
What writing supplies are available?
Writing supplies are plentiful, including dip pens and fountain pens, and an array of pencils suitable for drafting and sketching. As part of hosting duties Umbraean has made some basic supplies available for everyone, and the nicer items are at the market for bartering. (LINK)
What's the coffee situation?
There is coffee but it's always served cold with tonic water and an optional lemon. You're welcome. (LINK)
What kinds of stories do Fae tell?
All types of folklore from a variety of cultures, perhaps distorted after centuries of removal from their source -- I suggest Atlas Obscura's folklore tag as a place to get started. (LINK)
Do Fae have electric guitars of some variety?
Sadly, no. Only acoustic covers in Faeland. (LINK)
Do all Fae attend the festivals, or do some stay at home?
Attendance is not mandatory or expected, though if they're higher-placed in their court absences will become more noticeable. Largely this is for nobility -- lower-class Fae certainly exist and wouldn't want to attend even if they were invited. (LINK)
Abilities
General
Are abilities nerfed for this event?
Nope, not nerfed, just keep in mind some abilities might out them as not Fae!
(LINK)
If someone already has a boon/magical gift in a given area and they are given a similar boon by the mission, could their powers be boosted?
You're welcome to take this in whatever direction you'd like! It could be enhanced, or you could meld it with a different boon so it interfaces with her natural gifts into something more. (LINK)
For characters with sensing abilities, do the Fae feel distinct or different from player characters?
Just like Etrayans and the Polluxians, the Fae will read at a variety of power levels but will be generally higher than the average human being. Player characters do not necessarily read as more powerful (some of them are completely normal humans otherwise) but using extrasensory abilities to have a bit of an advantage is fine as long as it doesn't trivialize the game. (LINK)
Do other animals recognize shapeshifted Floreri as animals?
It depends on how skilled the individual is at shifting. All of the boons are not just a talent but something that someone can be more or less skilled at. (LINK)
Since they're the sunlight court, is it problematic if the animal form is a bat?
All animals are valued and appreciated in Florere! Not problematic at all. (LINK)
Can the illusion boon be used to create pocket dimensions based on an illusory painting?
Yes and you should submit this idea to the side quest suggestions thread! (LINK)
Are the elemental boons broad areas or can be they be specific?
We won't be defining that specifically, so it can be as broad or narrow as you like. (LINK)
Can a character combine their elemental boon with preexisting skills for additional effects?
You're more than welcome to go in that direction with their Fae-given abilities! We encourage everyone to use their imaginations and play whatever is fun for them for this mission. (LINK)
Does music count for the crafting boon, and how do Fae feel about music?
Yes, it does (the post has since been edited to make that clearer). Music is highly valued and exceptional talent would draw quite a crowd. (LINK)
Can the crafting boon include mental effects?
Yes, though these effects should be temporary and akin to an aura -- that is, tied to the object in question and not lasting when removed from someone's presence. (LINK)
Does the divination boon include seeing their own personal futures?
It covers a wide range of types of divination. Different Fae have different affinity and skill levels. So in some cases, yes, it will include seeing into an individual's personal future. (LINK)
Are there any limits to the types of potions that can be made?
There are no limits in terms of temporary effects. If you want to make anything that has a permanent effect on a player character, please check back with us. (LINK)
