In her office, she sighs, nails black and perfectly pointy round, make-up both efforless and yet, she's spent hours making sure every single eyelash was in place, perfectly curled, and each freckle was properly concealed.

There's a sigh and she starts, in a tone that is familiar to her, her Emma-Frost-Emissary-And-Representative-In-Council voice, but rarely used in Etraya.

Hello, this is Sophie Cuckoo. This should be the monthly NYX post in which I tell you to come, have homemade food, teach or take classes, or announce an event. This month, as we have lost personnel, NYX will be on break for restructuring, as I need to figure out how to move forward with this project to fulfill the vision it started with in the first place, as well as redefine curriculum, activities, schedules, and structure.

For those unaware, NYX is an organization at home comprised of myself, Prodigy, Anole, Ms. Marvel, Wolverine, Hellion, Synch, and Kiden. Our mission and purpose don't fully translate the reality of Etraya, but our values do. Allyship between differing groups was the backbone of our beliefs, as a place where we could share culture, exchange knowledge, protect each other, build trust, and create a sense of community, belonging, and safety.

Unfortunately for all of us, or in some cases, fortunately, because he is an insufferable. snotty know-it-all who makes me look the humblest, I am not Prodigy. I don't have all the answers on the tip of my tongue, I don't have the same optimistic mindset; I don't know how to inspire people as he does.

I've lived a very short, very sheltered life, and while I have had some feats under my belt, my experience is limited to, in order of events: being a psychic center of leadership and navigation for an identical to me hivemind that moves in assimilation of each other as an unified front and entity, performing heroic acts to save others and/or the world, getting killed, sometimes dying while dead, resurrecting, getting killed again, more dying, resurrecting, being an emissary, supporting direction of international commerce, organizing missions to smuggle life-saving pharmaceuticals across the globe, enjoying nepotism, addressing leaders of the nation as part of said nepotism, training to take over the planning and execution of the biggest political event we had, and last, but not least, holding actual conversations with a person who doesn't look exactly like me at length, verbally, and solo, for an extended period of time.

Needless to say, I think I am not wholly fit to create an environment that fits the values I am trying to instill, and for lack of a better word, I need to get my shit together and actually use my big political and enterprising brain to think differently for a moment.

All this to say that NYX is going on a hiatus for the next 5 weeks. Teachers, you are free to use the space as you see fit, use your keys, keep it tidy, and proceed as you'd like. Clark, you are on vacation, please take this moment to relax and spend time with your family; you deserve a breather. Steph, your atelier is yours, I'll give you a key, and you can use it as much as you'd like. I'll send you the locations for the materials while I am not doing inventory pick-up.

As for my Psychic Defense and Mind-Altering Tactics Recognition student, as well as my mentees/students/proteges/children, whatever you'd like to call yourself, message me. I am on a management break, but I will not ever be taking a break from you.
